How We Train
| Workshop Design |
Each seminar is designed or modified to meet your particular training needs. Prior to each workshop a copy of my Writing Skills Survey is distributed to anyone who expresses interest in attending the program. The surveys offer potential participants the opportunity to identify areas they believe to be of interest and essential to improving their writing skills.
| Flexible Workshop Format |
All onsite programs can be offered either on a full or half-day basis.
| Practical Application |
All workshops address the practical needs of managerial, administrative, technical, research, secretarial and clerical support personnel whose writing and editing skills are vital to job performance and productivity.
Both the content and structure of each writing workshop is consistent with each stage of the actual writing process: planning, writing, editing.
| Personal Attention |
Prior to each workshop, participants are invited to submit writing samples for a confidential review and critique. During the sessions, I allow enough time for personal attention while reviewing any in-class writing assignments.
| Teaching Style and Approach |
I personally conduct each workshop to ensure its success. My teaching style is neither academically dry nor dictatorial. Rather, my approach achieves results by combining informality and humor with practical advice for improving writing skills.
As always, my goal is to offer workshops that prove as enjoyable as they are informative. (See Client List).
| Superior Training Materials |
The materials designed for each program serve both as workbooks for in-class exercises designed to reinforce guidelines for effective writing and reference guides to usage, grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc. All workbooks contain contents pages to allow for easy access to particular areas of interest.
